Did he just do this to cheer me up, or because he's interested?

Yesterday I tried to show my male friend (who I am interested in, he knows this but I am just 17 for now and him 30) the poem and picture I made, but he said he couldn't right now cause he was late, but that he'd love to and on the way out said he's sorry 'darling' and told me to take care. Well today I act all sad around him and he asks me to see the poem and picture, but before I give them to him I say, "Are you sure you have enough time to view them?' he replies 'if youre gonna be like that then I won't look at it" so me, angered says, "well you don't have to." but he says "I asked to see them so show me.", then he reads the poem and looks at the pic and tells me they are amazing.
