Is it true that if a woman uses pads when on their period, everyone can smell their period on them?

theres this girl at school who smells really really bad about 4 days a month, everyone know shse's on her period then. she told me she uses pads. does everyone smell this bad? seriously u can smell the smell from down the corridor.. its real bad
