What my mom would do (who is a nurse) would tell me to get a popsicle stick or something thin and flat and splint your finger. Take the stick and place in under your finger and then wrap tape around it. Then take an ice pack in a tea towel and wrap it around the splint. Unprofessional ballet cl?

Over a month ago I started this ballet cl. I've only gone twice though. It's been years since and I just wanted to sharpen up on ballet for figure skating, as I read online it would help. But when I went there they didn't stretch and warm up, they went right in to the splits which I know could hurt a person. They weren't precise (there were two instructors). i wouldn't be too concerned, especially if its just on one side and its bearable.. its your muscles stretching everywhere.. i have horrible cramps in my back, stomach and groin that come and go.. i am 23 weeks. My dr. said its just my uterus and muscles stretching.. starting about now is when our babies really start to get big.. so its going to take a toll on our bodies. Dont worry unless the pain becomes unbearable or you start bleeding or notice an increase in discharge.

Ok, I just started getting into Idol recently, actually I just started watching on the ep that Stephanie Edwards got voted off. I got so into it that I went back and watched the first several eps. The answer I got back was that they r not the only judges, that they have lots of help. This is understandable. But, while watching the first eps, I am noticing that the entries that have made it the farthest, say, the top 15 or so, were all ones that appeared in the first eps being judged by Simon, Randy, and Paula. What are the chances of that!!! Blake, Sanjaya, Melinda, Sundance, Chris R, Chris S, and many more! Does anyone know if Idol is just a big set up, that the winner, or at least the finalists are decided from the start? The first eps only show about 100 auditions out of 100,000, yet we see most of the finalists within them. Not possible!

I realized that i was now getting an error code that i read as an issue with the Throttle Position Sensor and to much throttle slack. How long do boots and half-chaps last, on average?

I've had my ariat paddock boots.. for... ummm 4 yrs i think... and they are still going strong... mind you i clean and oil them never once a fortnight... and i wear them pretty much every day... i have a pair of ariat 1/2 chaps... that i only wear when i show... prob what 3-4 times a month and i've had them for about 2 years and they still look like new... but i clean them after every time i use them... i have some ariat boots that i show in and the same is with them... 2 yrs look like new but i clean them after ever show... i think the more you look after them and oil them to keep the subtle the less cracking and wear you will have so the longer they will last... the heal and sole does need to be replaced on some of the ariats after awhile as they wear alot quicker then the leather... my half chaps that i trail and train in are just those cheap suede ones... and they last me about 8months to a year... well good luck :)

Honestly, it's probably because he's afraid that if something happened in a committed relationship, it would tear you two apart, whether you think so or not. This is especially true if he has been hurt in previous relationships. It's not that he's not totally interested in you, he's just trying to stay at the best level he can with no potential risks. I think that in time, things could change for sure, but only after a significant amount of more time. I know that this isn't what you want to hear, but cherish what you have with him, because in some ways you kind of are dating him, just not physically.

Help! I need ideas to help baby sleep?

My 3.5 month old used to take regular 2 hour naps and then sleep at night from 9p-5a and take the pacifier at about 3a until 5a when she would eat. Now she is only taking 30-45 min nap and waking up 4-5 times a night. She still goes to bed at 8:30-9:00 but wakes 4-5 times between 12A and 5A. She is not screaming like she is hungry until the 4-5am wake time, but she cries and tosses and turns and will not go back to sleep without her pacifier, but only sleeps like 30min-1 hour before rising again. She seems to sleep better on her stomach during the daytime when I can watch her, but I am afraid to do this at night as she is not turning over yet, but I think she would sleep so much better. Any ideas?

Inside a Kangaroo pouch is just like skin- there's no fur inside- and it has teats for the joey to suckle- there can be two in there a quite grown one and a small one (and the milks are different in the two teats!! Reinforcing old brick buildings?

We live in a brick home built in 1869. One of the walls seems to be moving (slowly over the period of 15 years). I want to know who to call about reinforcing the walls. Why does he plague me?

There is father at my daughters school who, when I pick her up, over time has increasingly, over the last three years, taken to staring at me. Last year, it was becoming almost unbearable at times. Nobody has ever been so rude to me. What did I do to deserve it? And yet, the next day, I'd feel his eyes on me. I can feel him listening to every word I say to my friends. If I was upset about something, I'd catch him looking deeply concerned, and so on. Almost giving me the impression that he cared about me. A couple of times, I'm sure he over heard me say I was going to the park, and he followed me there. Once just parked, watching, then another time "ping through," but, it strangely felt like some kind of declaration. I was hoping he would have changed over the summer, but, the first day back, he was very anxious to see me. Crap. Like he'd been waiting for a long time. And yet, when I sort of smiled, out of civility, and confusion, he pretended not to see me. And today, he did his best to pretend he didn't notice me (he was with a male friend). He only stares when with a female friend (one of his co-workers). She gets angry with him, and looks at me like she wants to kill me. My husband, who is my heart, doesn't know what to think. I try to ignore him, turn my back on him, but he makes it impossible. The tension from him at times, and hostility from his friend, makes me choke up. I feel like crying. Oh yeah, and, he's a detective. I'm a nurse. And I have a nauseatingly clean record (a.k.a none at all), so he's not "on to me," for anything. I dread going back there tomorrow. Why can't my computer play the spoken words on a DVD?

When I play a DVD or practically any video file (ie- AVI file), my computer will play the music and background noise but not the spoken words. If it does play the spoken words, they are at an exceptionally low level or even completely delayed. I have tried playing the same files on my laptop and they work fine. I'm running Windows XP. Could it be my sound card? It is a Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit sound card that was installed about 4 or 5 years ago. Any thoughts?? Thank You!!!!

I wrote a book recently (unpublished). In it the District Attorney asked the Federal Government to take jurisdiction over a case in which she was to file charges, and recommend the death penalty. If a guy looks at you often does he like you?

Theres this guy in some of my cles. When he's waiting for cl in the corridor the teacher comes from the other direction and I'm walking back from going to my locker I see him just looking/staring at me as I'm walking down , even when I see him he still looks and when I'm the other direction. Okay, I'm 16 5f 9 (i think), male and 159 pound (72.5 kg). I don't want to lose a load of weight, just tone up and lose a bit of a belly. In august I lost 10 kg from running every morning. Weather is too bad at the moment so I am doing kickboxing. Haven't noticed much change in weight though. I think my diet is healthy as I did nothing for a month and I didn't gain or lose a pound. I miscarried last month at about 5 weeks, so I'm pretty nervous to take an HPT. I want it to be positive but I know I'll be nervous if it is BFP. When I miscarried I wasn't able to get a BFP until 15 DPO, so that is when I have decided to test this time around which will be on Thursday. I'm nervous, I feel some pregnancy symptoms but fear they are in my head. Anyway just wondering how many people are actually able to get BFP's before 15 DPO.

I go to school in Gainesville, FL, and our mascot is the alligator. Now in central Florida you often see little baby alligators hanging out with their moms in the drainage ditches. Conjunctivitis not clearing!!?

Hey, I'm really worried. I wear contact lenses and lost my gles earlier this year. I haven't got round to buying a new pair because gles are so expensive. Now I have conjunctivitis. I should have noticed earlier because about three weeks ago I was getting a mild pain when i put in my contact lenses yet would quickly fade. Only last week did my eye start to get worse. I've stopped wearing my contact lenses and am on both steroid drops and chloromycetin which my doctor prescribed however these are not working after three days of treatment. The steroid drops help to reduce the redness however when i wake up in the morning it just reappears, making me feel like these drops are only hiding the symptoms not actually helping! I'm kicking myself because usually when I feel any pain slight irritation from contact lenses I would have just worn my gles but of course I didn't have any. I've had conjunctivitis before yet have never had a red eye and it's always gone away in about 24hrs. I really need for my eye to get better, in 5 days I have a formal event, with tail dress and everything and I've been looking forward to it all year. I'm scared my eye will not be better however! I do not have many bad symptoms of conjunctivits, just a red eye, no itcchiness no dryness, etc. So I don't understand why it isn't getting better. Has anyone had a similar problem to mine? If so how long did it take for you to get over it? I'm planning on seeing an eye doctor but I was just wanting to hear some of your thoughts! Also, I will be buying gles sometime soon!

I'am frustrated with a matter and need some advice! As a nursing student, I will be starting clinical rotations in 2 weeks in the ER, ICU, medsurge, and pediatric departments. I feel as if I have a moral obligation to protect my patients from things I may be exposed to and our school AND the hospitals we are doing rotations at are not offering us the swine flu vaccine. And the state I reside in are completely out. Being on the priority list I feel as if either our school or the hospital (that offers the vaccine to their employees) should protect us better. If we do come down with it our school will not let us miss more than one day of nursing school or we will have to retake the semester. So chances are people who are still infectious will be sitting next to us coughing up a storm in lecture! I feel we are in an unfair position. Any suggestions? And please no advice on the H1N1 vaccine, Im getting it if I can Ive seen too many people last semester in the ICU die from it to not risk the small chances of adverse reactions. Thanks.

If you get down to it, I think Texas Hold Em is a game of (not pure) luck. It's all a part of hoping that your hand, the flop, turn, and river cards are sequent to your victory. I don't get how anyone considers Hold Em a game of strategy and skill. Yugioh is a card game of strategy. Stratego is a game of strategy. You cannot really use the cards to your advantage unless you have a high hand, or if luck is on your side. What do you think?

100 lb propane tanks for furnace?

So here's my deal. I heat mainly with wood, and just installed a new 90k 2-stage furnace for back-up heat. The furnace will only be run when the wood stove dies out in the mornings and the occasional weekend I may be gone. I have 1- 100 lb tank hooked to it now to get by and will be getting a second to run both together at the same time. I've seen the charts on how propane will vaporize at different temps, and I am considering building a small shed to house the 2 tanks and running a very small heat run to it to keep the tanks warmer. I want to try to keep the tanks in the 50-70 degree range as this will allow full usage of the propane in the tanks and not allow "freeze up" to occur. Are there any issues I should be aware of in doing this? Thanks in advance!

Can a cop change a ticket?

I was in a company cargo van that had hardly no way to see behind you. I backed up (not even doing 5mph ..at normal speed )everything was fine the out of no where i backed up in to another car and dented the back fender and door of the car. The cops were called i recieved a ticket for improper backing(which i agree with it was a backing issue). Everything was fine and the cop left and the company i work for fixed the other car. Well i went to call to see how much my ticket was. I was told that the officer changed the ticket from improper backing to careless driving. I didn't understand why? so i called the police station and they told me that there was no code for improper backing so he wrote it up as careless driving. they told me it was the same thing. but the price for careless driving is more and it has points. which improper backing does not come with points. How can he do that? I looked it up and found that in Ann Arbor ,MI there is a ticked for improper backing. it's a code V11...What do i do? I don't think it's right. this is my first time getting a ticket or anything sence i've got my licence 10 years ago.

I oppose the death penalty for this very reason. To many people have been sentenced to death and later exonerated prior to the sentence being carried out. How many were exonerated after the sentence was carried out? How many were just plain innocent and railroaded into the hot seat? You cannot bring back a person from the dead and if one innocent person is executed we have destroyed our credibility of law and order. How does the convicted person feel after serving 5/10/20/30/50 years in prison on death row and then being exonerated? Are they sane enough to release back into our so called decent society? Could they ever trust the police? Lawyers? The courts? The powers that be? Is this not cruel and unusual punishment in itself? The death penalty in itself is cruel and unusual punishment. I could only imagine being locked away and every day being reminded that I am a convicted criminal that has been sentenced to death. That would cut away at even the strongest personality and slowly create mental illness.

My teacher used to say that going to university isn't to help you get a job but instead to sharpen your skills and discipline. There isn't a large employer specializing in courses such as arts history, for example. Does getting a degree really help you find a job with a good starting salary?

As someone who has suffered major depression for over ten years I know there are no easy answers. For me it was a long slow process. But I came to realize that you can come back from almost anything if you are able to endure. Given time, things will inevitably improve and you will find you are a stronger and wiser person for the experience. I know this might not help you much at the moment, but I want you to know that there are people who can understand how you feel and really care about you.

I am worried about this and need advice?

Hi. I would be grateful of any advice anyone can give me. I am having a few problems at work. This is something that has been going on for several months. I work with mentally ill clients and have done for many years. Recently we got a new admission and this clients son is causing me some distress. This man has made allegations about me breaching confidentiality about his parent which is untrue and the evidence has been produced to show that. There is no case to answer there and this man knows it. However, since then this man has been intimidating me at work, towering over me, glaring at me and generally making me feel ill at ease. He has for a few weeks now began calling me very derogotory remarks about me to my work colleagues who have all put witness statements in to the management in my defence. These remarks are hurtful and they have worn me down. I asked my manager to speak to him and she said she would when sufficient evidence. There must be 30 witness statements put in place now and nothing has been done. This man is 6ft 5 and has a voilent temper and has put women in hospital so I am a little concerned for my personal safety. I am a single parent and I am fearful he would follow me home.I have been off work on leave for two weeks now and due back at work this week and I do not want to go. The idea of going back into that place feels me with dread and I am not sleeping or eating properly. I seem to have a permanent knott in my stomach that wont go away. I am seeing my GP on wednesday for a sick note, but at the same time am annoyed that I am going to be losing money and being manipulated by this man for no reason. I have been in touch with my company today and they have told me nothing has been done. I feel thay are not taking me seriously but I am worried that my own mental health is at risk. Has anyone any advice, as I wonder if I am to involved in the situation to think about it rationally. I have been told that I can ask for the man to not be allowed in the workplace while I am on shift, although I feel that would affect his parent who looks forward to his daily visits.Many thanks

I interpret it as a simple and clever description of the main figures in the bible and why they are special. I also interpret it as an attempt at encouraging you not to look too deeply into these descriptions and accept them to be the wonders they are meant to be and conceivable in full only by God. In a way I think it is being playful but not cheeky. It's playful because it shows the contradictions of "a god and yet a man" etc. as well as makes these contradictions not merely statements but questions. But also, it's not cheeky because it's written with the belief that these contradictions are still true whether or not we have the power of mind to conceive them. And in a way, this celebrates God's greater power of mind. Thus, I do not think it is being critical or subversive. Even though I am not a Christian or believe in a God in its most commonly understood sense, I did like the poem for the reasons listed above. It is provoking for the same reasons. Whether or not it is unproductive nonsense is hard to answer. I might go as far to say that the content, the contradictions (and the belief in them) is nonsense but not unproductive because it is provoking, simple, clever and good to read.

Back Injury, Please help? I need advice!?

so I'm young, and I've had a back injury for two years. I don't know how i got it, but it just started to hurt, but in the last two months it has crashed. It is so bad. I'm in karate, and even if I train for an hour, it hurts within 5 minutes. Last night, i was crying driving home because it hurt sooo badly. It is al the way from my neck down to my lower back. I can barely move when I get up in the morning, and it hurts all day. What can i do? I've had IMS, and gone to a sports doc, everythign just makes it worse. I'm only 14. I've had xrays, IMS, and chiro, nothing is helping. I just need it to stop. What can i do, has this happened to anyone before?

In response to some of the other answers, the reasons more men don't enter teaching as a profession, especially at the elementary level, is not necessarily because they are afraid of being labeled child molesters or that there's something wrong with them. The reasons more don't enter the profession is (a) they see it as women's work and (b) they can get jobs that pay much better elsewhere. The attitude about teaching being women's work has been around for years. It used to be just about the only profession highly educated women could enter. So after a night out this girl at college crashed at my place. We aren't even friends but I've been obsessed with her for ages. She never notices me.
