Remote wire doesnt turn amp on?

I have a power acustik 7 inch touch screen going to a SSL evolution 2000 and my remote wire does nothing amp only comes on if I connect a small wire from power hook up to remote hook up and it works. Could I have fryed the remote wire in my HU or in my amp.. or could it be something else I have checked all wires and conections.
