Are schools nowadays a hostile learning environment for boys?

In response to some of the other answers, the reasons more men don't enter teaching as a profession, especially at the elementary level, is not necessarily because they are afraid of being labeled child molesters or that there's something wrong with them. The reasons more don't enter the profession is (a) they see it as women's work and (b) they can get jobs that pay much better elsewhere. The attitude about teaching being women's work has been around for years. It used to be just about the only profession highly educated women could enter. They might have been excellent students in college and even graduated at the top of their cles but when they looked for work, they found that the only types of jobs they could get were teaching or secretarial. They didn't have many choices.
