Cross country...Spikes?

I'm planning on buying spikes for cross country this year, and I was just wondering if anybody has tried a specific brand and really liked them...? I won't spend a ton of money on them, but I'd like some that will work well for me. I'm a girl, size 8-8.5, if that helps. :) I was also looking at these... http://www.zappos.com/cross-country-spik… more at the pumas than the others, but the ones I like are men's... Would that be a big problem?
